Carina

Welcome to my website. I'm Carina, a midwife with a warm heart and a strong belief in the power of every woman and every family. The miracle of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood continues to move me every day. With gentleness, knowledge, and trust, I'm happy to guide you on this special journey, from pregnancy to your first days with your baby(ies).

I'm married to Joachim and the proud mother of two sons, Matteo and Mino. My language skills—Dutch, English, Portuguese, and German—allow me to guide families from diverse cultures in a warm and reassuring way, making everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

My midwife path

In 2018, I graduated as a midwife from Artesis Plantijn University College in Antwerp. My career began in a surgical ward at Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), where, as a nurse, I spent two years learning a tremendous amount about care, teamwork, and humanity. Yet, I soon realized my heart lay elsewhere: supporting (expectant) mothers and babies. In short: the intensely beautiful start of a new life.

That calling led me to Kind en Gezin, where I've been supporting families through the first, challenging years of their child's life for five years now. There, I discovered even more deeply how important it is to give parents confidence in their own abilities.

My Erasmus internship in Bergamo, Italy (2018), has strongly shaped me and deepened my view on care: today I look at every woman and every family with a holistic vision, paying attention to body, mind and environment.

My goal is to empower every woman and every family. I start with the most natural approach possible, supported by medical expertise, gentleness, and commitment. I offer support during pregnancy and postpartum, always at home, so you can grow into your new role in peace and comfort.
